About Saybolt Viscometer
Used for determining the Viscosity of fuel oil and lubricating oil both thin & thick. The apparatus consists of Stainless Steel bath with oil cup which is centrally placed in a water bath. The bath has a lid which contains a water cooling tube, two handle with two stirrer blades, thermometer socket and a straight heater, stirring is done by turntable arrangement. A thermometer can also be inserted into the cup cover. The jets one universal and one Furol can be screwed to the cup by a handle(without strainer, withdrawal tube and glasswares). can operate on 220 Volts AC mains.

FAQ's of Saybolt Viscometer:
Q: How does the Saybolt Viscometer operate for penetration tests?
A: The Saybolt Viscometer operates by allowing a sample of material, such as grease, to be placed in its test chamber. The apparatus maintains set temperatures within a range of 5-40C. Once the material is ready, the viscometer measures how fast a specified volume passes through a calibrated tube, providing precise viscosity and penetration values.
Q: What materials can be tested with this Saybolt Viscometer?
A: This device is engineered for a wide range of materials, including greases, lubricating oils, and other semi-solid substances. It is particularly suited to materials where penetration and viscosity data are crucial for product quality control and research purposes.
Q: When should I use the Saybolt Viscometer in my process?
A: The viscometer is typically used during the quality control stage, research and development, or when validating the consistency of raw or finished products. Its measurements are essential whenever viscosity characterization impacts material performance or compliance with industry standards.
Q: Where is the Saybolt Viscometer most commonly used?
A: The apparatus is widely utilized in industrial laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and quality control units. As an Indian exporter, manufacturer, and supplier, it is supplied to both domestic and international clients needing efficient viscosity measurement solutions.
Q: What is the process for conducting a test using the Saybolt Viscometer?
A: To conduct a test, place the sample in the chamber and set the desired temperature between 5C and 40C. The device, powered by 220V electricity, maintains this temperature. The test begins with measuring the time it takes for a specific quantity of sample to flow through the calibrated tube, from which viscosity is calculated.
Q: What are the main benefits of using this viscometer?
A: Its primary benefits include precise, consistent viscosity measurements, user-friendly operation, and adaptability to various sample types. The automatic temperature control and robust build contribute to reliability and efficiency in laboratory environments.
Q: How is the Saybolt Viscometer powered, and why is this important?
A: The viscometer runs on a 220 Volt electric supply and consumes 1000 Watts of power. This electric operation ensures steady temperature maintenance and reliable performance, which is critical for achieving accurate and reproducible test results.
